How does a bedwetting alarm work?
A bedwetting alarm is a scientifically proven tool to help children with enuresis become dry at night. It consists of special underwear, a transmitter, and a receiver. As soon as urine gets into the underwear, the alarm is triggered and wakes the child.
At the beginning, it may happen that the child only wakes up once they are already wet. However, the goal is for them to wake up earlier and earlier over time – ideally even before the alarm sounds. This way, the child learns to perceive the sensation of a full bladder, wake up in time, and go to the toilet.
Over time, most children manage to sleep through the night without triggering the alarm or waking up when the bladder is full.
This learning process takes time and can last from several weeks to a few months. The average duration is about 6 to 12 weeks, in some cases up to 4 months.
Which Dryly bedwetting set to choose?
We have carefully put together three different bedwetting alarm sets. This way, you can be sure there is always a suitable set available.
Our mission is to make becoming dry a playful experience for children. For this reason, all sets are equipped with a cuddly panda bear that will bring your child a lot of joy.
In addition to this panda bear, each package contains a transmitter, a receiver, and underwear. You can download the matching Dryly app in the App Store.
Purchasing a bedwetting alarm ensures more motivation and commitment, especially if you choose it together with your child.
Dryly "Star" Bedwetting Alarm Set
This set is intended for children who only wet the bed occasionally. It contains two underwear pieces in neutral colors as well as Wizzu the panda bear. The transmitter and receiver are, of course, included in the delivery, and the bedwetting alarm app can be downloaded from the App Store.
Dryly "Hero" Bedwetting Alarm Set
This set is frequently chosen for children who wet the bed more often during the week. It contains three underwear pieces in neutral colors as well as Wizzu the panda bear.
Dryly "Superhero" Bedwetting Alarm Set
This package is often chosen by parents because it contains four underwear pieces. At the beginning, it may happen more frequently that the child wets the bed. A set with four underwear pieces makes therapy easier in this phase.
Two pairs of underwear have playful Dryly designs, and two have a neutral design – ideal if your child prefers some discretion, for example during sleepovers.
The Superhero Set also contains a 100% organic and waterproof mattress protector, so your child is fully equipped.
Wizzu the panda bear
Wizzu is a cuddly companion that motivates children during therapy. Positive motivation plays an important role on the path to dry nights.
Inside the panda is the receiver of the alarm system. If the alarm is triggered, the panda helps the child to wake up and go to the toilet.
In the Dryly app, you can also customize the panda Wizzu with various accessories.
The transmitter and receiver
The Dryly bedwetting alarm packages include a small transmitter that is attached to the underwear. As soon as it detects moisture, it sends a signal to the receiver. This triggers an alarm so that your child wakes up and can go to the toilet.
At the same time, a notification is sent to the Dryly app on your smartphone. This allows you to support your child and help them fall back asleep afterward.
Scientific studies show that the bedwetting alarm is one of the most effective methods for treating bedwetting. By waking up when wetting the bed, your child learns to better perceive the signals of a full bladder and react in time.
Dryly Underwear
Every child is different. That is why Dryly underwear is available both with cheerful patterns and in subtle colors. This allows your child to choose what they feel most comfortable with. The integrated sensors detect moisture immediately; the transmitter registers this and triggers the alarm.
The Dryly App
The alarm can optionally be connected to the Dryly app. The app provides parents with helpful insights into their child's progress and motivates children with playful elements on their way to dry nights. When the alarm is triggered, you receive a push notification on your smartphone. This allows you to check if your child has woken up. If this has not happened after a few minutes, you can support and wake your child. Over time, most children learn to react to the alarm faster and faster.
Our bedwetting alarm app is professionally developed and meets the medical standards for encryption, data security, and anonymity that hospitals must also maintain. We only ask for the minimum information necessary for the proper functioning of our bedwetting alarms and the associated app.
For the child
Every evening that the bedtime ritual is carried out, your child collects coins. These can be used to customize Wizzu – with hats, glasses, or other accessories.
In the app, a simple ritual guides the evening step by step, for example, going to the toilet, putting on the underwear, and brushing teeth. Ticking off the tasks provides motivation and creates routine.
This provides playful support for the training and is actively designed together with parents.
How the alarm can help children
Bedwetting alarms have long been known as effective support for becoming dry, but many do not know exactly how they work. Dryly combines this proven method with a playful approach.
The friendly panda Wizzu and the Dryly app make the training child-friendly and motivating. This helps children learn to cope with bedwetting positively, perceive it better, and overcome it step by step.
Frequently Asked Questions about Bedwetting Alarms
What is an alarm device and how does it work?
A bedwetting alarm is a tool that helps children get to the toilet in time at night. As soon as the first drops of urine are detected, a signal is triggered. This teaches the body to perceive the feeling of a full bladder and react to it.
Dryly combines this proven method with child-friendly technology and an app. Through a playful and positive approach, the child is motivated and supported step-by-step in becoming dry.
Why is Dryly® the right bedwetting alarm for children with enuresis?
The Dryly® bedwetting alarm is reliable and comfortable, helping children with enuresis become dry. Dryly was developed to make this process as easy and positive as possible.
With a motivational approach and guidance from the app, Dryly helps children become dry step by step.
When choosing a bedwetting alarm, comfort, reliability, and child-friendly operation are particularly important. A clear alarm function and a positive user experience are also crucial.
Dryly was developed according to exactly these criteria: with a soft, reliable sensor and a simple system that playfully sensitizes children to their body signals.
The combination of intelligent technology and a child-friendly approach makes Dryly an effective and supportive solution for bedwetting.
How effective are bedwetting alarms for nocturnal enuresis?
Bedwetting alarms have been scientifically proven to be effective for children with nocturnal enuresis. Studies show that the consistent use of a reliable bedwetting alarm can significantly increase the likelihood of long-term dryness. Success depends primarily on regular use and a child-friendly design.
Dryly combines this scientific foundation with smart technology and a gentle, positive approach. Thanks to a precise sensor and clear signals, children learn to react more quickly to their bladder signals. Many families achieve faster and more lasting results in a stress-free way.
Are bedwetting alarms suitable for teenagers and young adults?
Yes, bedwetting alarms can also be used for teenagers and young adults who suffer from nocturnal enuresis. They train the body to wake up when the bladder is full, using the same principle as with children.
Many young people and families consciously choose Dryly, as it offers proven support suitable for everyday use for all age groups.
Are the Dryly® underpants comfortable to wear?
When developing Dryly, comfort was the primary focus: The system is lightweight, flexible, child-friendly, and easy to use. The underwear is of extremely high quality and comfortable to wear. Thanks to its modern design, Dryly remains discreet while sleeping, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
How quickly do bedwetting alarms show initial results?
The progression varies greatly and cannot be predicted in general terms, as every child reacts differently. However, initial changes are usually noticed after about 2 weeks. Some children may experience their first dry nights after just a few weeks, while it takes longer for others. With consistent use, it generally takes about 3–4 months for a child to be completely dry. Crucial factors are consistent application, regular use, and supportive, motivating guidance.
Is a bedwetting alarm more effective than medication?
The alarm system helps children with enuresis learn to wake up with a full bladder, rather than merely suppressing symptoms temporarily.
Dryly supports this learning process and helps users become dry independently, step by step.
Is the alarm device also suitable for heavy sleepers?
The Dryly® bedwetting alarm is also suitable for deep sleepers. In this case, we recommend the version with a vibration function. This way, in addition to the acoustic signal, the child is woken up by the vibration of the transmitter attached to their underwear. This combination is particularly helpful for children who have difficulty responding to acoustic signals. As a result, the child receives two stimuli that support the waking process.
Is Dryly® worth it?
With Dryly®, you are choosing a modern bedwetting alarm that can be used both with and without an app. Features such as the vibration transmitter for deep sleepers, the user-friendly system for parents, and the child-friendly, playful design make Dryly a comprehensive solution.
Dryly offers reliable support on the path to becoming dry at night and relies on a system that can be used for the long term.
